DJ Dad

The ride to school in the morning lasts one song (unless it’s Bohemian Rhapsody, in which case it could take a week to finish). My three very different children all have three very different tastes in music. Thanks to Google Play I am able to fulfill all of their musical fantasies. My oldest is into anything English (a challenge for a girl growing up in a house with a French mother and who lives, learns and grows up in Hebrew speaking Israel). She is in the first grade and started “learning” English in school. It has really built up her confidence seeing as she has an American born father lol. Her latest favorites are “Alone” from Adele, “Can’t Stop the Feeling”, Justin Timberlake and “Uptown Funk”, Bruno Mars. Although the boys are moving and grooving along with my daughter, they, too have their favorites. My youngest goes crazy for “In Da Club”, by 50 Cent. He is especially excited to hear “Jump Around”, by House of Pain. Might I had, my youngest will be three in January. The middle child prefers Sephardic Henna Party hits that can be found on a disc called “Chagiga Morrocai”, by Sphataim. He even sings along in Judeo-Arabic. It’s cute. But, they all go really crazy for Chassidic hits. They love to boogie to Avraham Fried or hits from the Maccabeats. I treasure these 4 minute car rides in the morning. One really gets to know their kids through the music they like. In a word, my kids are “eclectic”. What do your kids listen to?
