WHERE ARE THEY?

President Obama has repeatedly said that only a small minority of Muslims are radicals (terrorists-a term he chooses not to use).  He’s not alone.  I have seen many others referencing these so called “moderate” Muslims. If the Jihadists are so few in numbers, where are the masses of “good” Muslims demonstrating against these “few” that have hijacked their religion?  An Iman once a week on MSNBC is not a mass demonstration of “good” Muslims rising up against terror.

I have grown to expect President Obama’s (non) reaction to Islamic terror. People shouldn’t really be surprised at this point with his comments or his (in)actions regarding terror.  What I can’t get used to is the silence from these “good” Muslims.  If there are roughly 1.5 billion Muslims worldwide, there should be hundreds of millions of them demonstrating, loudly, against the so-called “few” that have stolen their religion and have turned it into a perverse, organized killing machine.

The world is awash with Muslim terrorists and they seem to be making strides not only in the Middle East, but Europe and eventually in America.  The West certainly has the military might to defeat them (although I question their will), but the real weapons are these so-called “good” Muslims. We need them to rise up and take their religion back.  The West, as a coalition needs to ramp up the military campaign and blow their safe havens to smithereens.  They need to destroy ISIS’s infrastructure and their economy.  We need to break their backs.  The West also needs to lean hard on other Arab nations and “good” Muslims.  The West needs to encourage them to rise up and filter out these cancerous Jihadists and to preach, from the loudest of loudspeakers, that Jihad is not ok.  Radicalized Imams need to be replaced.  Children need to be educated and taught that killing is wrong.  Bombs alone will not win this war, but they are an integral part.  We also need to change their ideology (once the smoke from the bombs has cleared).

Sadly, I don’t see this happening, as I don’t believe that only a small minority of Muslims are terrorists.  I believe they are greater in numbers than we care to admit or care to imagine.  I would, however, love to be proven wrong.
