Pizza and a Whole Lot More

http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-4725043,00.html

You’ve had a long day.  You’re hungry and tired and stop into a pizza joint to grab a quick slice and a Coke.  You finish, (bench if you’re observant) and step outside.  Bam!  Waiting for you was an attacker with a large knife.  Before you can even comprehend what is happening, the attacker is stabbing you multiple times (9) in the face.  You hunch over in pain, scream for help, and pray.

What I just described to you didn’t happen in Israel.  It happened in Milan, Italy last night.  The victim, a Chassidic Jew, was not the target of a robbery.  The attacker wasn’t interesting in the victim’s money or possessions.  All the attacker wanted to do was hurt or kill the victim, simply because the victim was a Jew.

The same can be said for the countless victims of the latest “terror wave” (some still recovering from their wounds) in Israel. The same can also be said for the many victims of the growing number of anti-semitic attacks in France.  The attackers were not interested in anything other than murder.  The victims were targeted for being Jews.  It’s that simple.

You may be reading this and thinking to yourself that you are safe because you are not observant, don’t wear your religion on your sleeve or are publicly outspoken against Israel and the Israeli government.  Don’t be fooled.  You are still a target for these fanatics if you are a Jew.  The Nazis’s didn’t have a problem determining who was a Jew, and didn’t discriminate between those that were observant or not, and neither do these Jihadists.  We are all the same to them, Jews.

Wishing everyone a safe and meaningful Shabbat and a Chodesh tov (a good month).
