Ashdod seems to have it all.  We have beautiful beaches, some great restaurants, a mix of Jews that have settled here from all over the globe, synagogues, ancient ruins, and yes, shopping malls.  Lots of shopping malls.  We have indoor malls, outdoor malls, strip malls:  You name it.

And now, unfortunately, we can add terrorists to the mix.  It seems as if a knife wielding terrorist was caught next to the Big Fashion shopping center that opened not too long ago.

Just across the street is a residential neighborhood filled with lots of children, schools and shops.  Imagine what would have happened had our security services not been fully alert.

I am sure once (if) this video makes its way to mainstream media, Israel will be accused of using excessive force.  After all, he hadn’t yet made it to the mall or to a school and was only carrying a knife.
